COVID REGULATIONS – CHANGES IN LAW – LEGAL ALERT
As of July 1, 2023, the state of epidemic emergency introduced in connection with SARS-CoV-2 virus infections will be canceled. The Ministry of Health’s regulation on the cancellation of the state of epidemic emergency in the territory of the Republic of Poland as of July 1 of this year was published in the Official Journal of Laws on Friday, June 16, 2023. It came into force on the day of announcement.
The state of epidemic emergency was introduced in Poland from May 16, 2022 in connection with infections with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Previously, an epidemic state was in force.
The Chief Sanitary Inspector requested that the state be canceled, due to the current epidemiological situation, particularly considering the decrease in the number of diagnosed SARS-CoV-2 infections, as well as the decrease in the number of deaths and hospitalizations observed recently.
What will change from July 1, 2023?
– the obligation to cover the mouth and nose in clinics, outpatient clinics and hospitals will be abolished
– mandatory vaccination among medical professionals will be abolished
– it will not be possible to process personal data related to COVID-19
– the obligation to perform examinations under the Labor Code (pre-employment examinations and periodic examinations will be reintroduced – there will be 180 days to perform suspended examinations)
– some disability certificates, automatically renewed during the pandemic, will expire at the end of this year, and some only in 2024 – the permissibility of ordering remote work on an emergency basis will be abolished, as well as the possibility of placing an employee on forced leave under covid conditions.
